Our Palm Court Trio is our most versatile and popular small ensemble for almost any occasion. Formal or informal, large or small, weddings, receptions, dinner functions, garden parties, these three musicians never fail to please. With Steve Fletcher’s unique ability to swap between Cello and Trumpet, an extra dimension is added to this groups stunning versatility. This ensemble could be described as a cross between a string quartet, cocktail pianist and a ‘dinner jazz’ band!

We have a large selection of traditional classical wedding music along with many modern alternatives suitable for church or civil wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships, and background music ideal for receptions, garden parties, dinner functions or almost any special occasion you could think of! are very rarely a problem as Steve Fletcher regularly produces new arrangements for this ensemble, and unlike many musicians we do not charge any extra for this service. Feel free to choose specific pieces, guide us with your preferred style of music, or simply allow us to follow the mood of the day performing music in various styles to entertain guests of all ages and tastes.

Cello and Trumpet. This increases our repertoire, enabling us to perform popular trumpet tunes such as ‘Trumpet Voluntary’ and can add a jazzy feel to the sound of the trio with music including Gershwin’s ‘Summertime’ and Sherwin’s ‘A Nightingale sang in Berkley Square’. Steve can perform trumpet fanfares, ideal to announce ‘dinner is served’ at formal dinner functions or the ‘entrance of the Bride and Groom’ at your wedding breakfast. Church weddings
If your church or chapel does not have an organ (Or organist!) our keyboard can produce a good organ sound to lead the hymns. We can also perform suitable music

Popular music for church weddings includes Pachelbel’s Canon, Handel’s ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’, Handel’s ‘Water Music’, Clarke’s ‘Trumpet Voluntary’, Bach’s ‘Air on a G String’, Elgar’s ‘Salut d’Amour’, Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’, Wagner’s ‘Bridal Chorus’ and Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’.
If you are limited on space for musicians in your church, why not book Steve as a solo wedding trumpeter (accompanied by the regular church organist), to then meet the other members of the trio at your reception to provide background music during your Champagne reception and/or wedding breakfast.

Recent requests include Robbie Williams ‘Angels’ and ‘She’s the One’ and Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’! However, if you would prefer traditional classical wedding music we will be happy to guide you through our suitable choices.

intimate atmosphere. We can provide amplification (See below for more details) if required, at no extra cost. We have a modern digital keyboard able to reproduce a very realistic piano sound (Along with Organ, Harpsichord and other sounds) although we are happy to use your venue’s piano if available.
We will ask you to provide 3 chairs without arms and access to a standard UK 240v power socket (If needed); we carry around 50m extension leads. All electrical equipment is PAT tested to meet health and safety regulations.

feel that this is not suitable for your function, or will clash with your colour scheme we will be happy to discuss alternatives. We do take pride in our smart and presentable appearance, but can understand that this is not to everyone’s taste! We have even performed in jeans and T-shirts for a BBQ in Surbiton!
Amplification
 Using our discreet ‘clip on’ microphones and our 500 Watt PA system our palm court trio can cope with large venues, or simply add a little reverb in venues with a poor acoustic such as marquees or ‘thickly carpeted’ rooms. We have chosen these microphones not only for their exceptional sound quality, but also

because of their discreet appearance (No untidy looking mic stands) and the fact that being so close to the instrument they will only amplify the music, not the background noise! Please note that amplified does not necessarily mean loud, we will always adjust the volume to suit the venue and occasion. This system has proved to be invaluable in many situations including large dinner functions with up to 500 guests, marquee wedding receptions (helping to overcome the poor acoustics and carry the sound throughout the marquee), ‘2 Room’ functions (musicians in one room and speakers in the other!) and outdoor functions with guests spread out over a large area.

We will arrive in plenty of time to set up and liaise with you, your event organiser, wedding coordinator or toastmaster regarding any details of our performance. We will have spoken to and emailed you in detail prior to your function, so we will already know exactly what is required of us. If there are any last minute changes to the format of your function, you will find us flexible and happy to adapt. We do ask for light refreshments (Drinks and sandwiches or similar), most venues will be used to providing refreshments for musicians.
