11th June 2006 - Jean-Christophe Novelli and his team held a fabulous garden party for the launch of the new ‘Edible Garden’ at the Novelli Academy. The sun was shining, the drinks were flowing, the canapé’s were out of this world, and the guests were entertained by the LBE string quartet. What a fabulous way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Exclusive to Harrods and The Gastro Garden Company website comes a range of planters specifically designed for the retail market. Each planter is manufactured in England from 1.5mm galvanised steel, and is available in many finishes, any colour and any size. Each is planted with a variety of exquisite herbs and vegetables for use with recipes created by Jean-Christophe Novelli. Installation (if required) is provided, and each planter is equipped with care instructions to ensure continued use and enjoyment.

The growing trend for alfresco dining and the inevitable prohibition on smoking indoors, an edible garden by the Gastro Garden Company provides an economically viable and aesthetic addition to the commercial environment. It enables me to have at my immediate disposal the most important commodity a chef requires, namely fresh, seasonal produce. To be able to do so in an environment that is pleasing to the eye simply adds to the experience and fuels my creative passion.
