The LBE String Quartet performs at many Church Weddings every year. We can play along with your organist, or completely replace your organist.
We can perform suitable music for:
- Prelude music - as guests await the start of your service.
- Processional music - entrance of the bride and bridesmaids.
- Music during the signing of the register.
- Recessional music - for the exit of the happy couple.
Popular string quartet music for your church wedding service could include Pachelbel’s Canon in D, Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Handel’s Water Music, Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary, Bach’s Air on a G String, Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, Schubert’s Ave Maria, Wagner’s Bridal Chorus and Mendelssohn’s Wedding March. Many couples prefer more modern music in order to reflect their personalities. Modern choices could include pop songs such as Madness - It Must be Love, Eva Cassidy - Songbird, Oasis - Whatever, Coldplay - Viva la Vida, Elton John - Your Song and many more.
As an added bonus, our Cellist (Steve Fletcher) is also a highly accomplished Trumpeter! He can perform a Fanfare for the arrival of the Bride, popular Trumpet Tunes such as Trumpet Voluntary and Trumpet descants giving a real ‘Songs of Praise’ feel to your Wedding Hymns.
We can provide amplification for our String Quartet at no extra cost. This helps us to achieve a good balance with the Church Organ, or gives us that extra power when needed to lead your Hymns.
If you are limited on space for musicians in your church, why not book Steve as a solo wedding trumpeter (accompanied by the resident church organist), and then meet the other members of the String Quartet later in the day to provide background music during your wedding reception.
