I first met Steve and the wonderful London Banqueting Ensemble at the Honourable Artillery Company Uniformed Services Show jumping dinner in 2013. I had attended a lot of mess dinners in my 12 years of service to date and they really stood out for me. For me the Post Horn Gallop was the highlight as it combined their talent and humour. Chatting with Steve after dinner I was adamant that I was going to book them for an event at Britannia Royal Naval College.

In 2016, I was organising a Willy Wonka themed ball. The event needed an extravagant entrance, a great sound track and ceremonial sunset so I contacted Steve and the LBE. He travelled from London for the event and did me proud with Fanfare Trumpeters, the Post Horn Gallop and even accompanied our ceremonial sunset. I received so many compliments on their behalf and the event couldn't have gone better! I think the picture speaks for itself...!

Hi Steve,

I just wanted to send a quick note before we fly off on our honeymoon to send you and the quartet from our day my heartfelt thanks for their wonderful music. It was everything I dreamt of and more.

The acoustics of the ceremony room really let the music soar. The arrangement you created of the Back to the Future theme tune was absolutely superb and one of my favourite moments of the day - I have never been so happy in my life as when we turned to face our friends and families as a married couple, and they applauded and that triumphant theme issued forth! Everyone was blown away by this and the Vivaldi and the Elgar too, and by the brilliant music at our reception.

Sending an email seems a poor way to thank you all for what you've done for us, which includes your kindness in arranging the piece and making everything so easy for us during a very busy time.

Please pass on my sincere thanks to the musicians from the day - we came over before the ceremony to shake and hands and introduce ourselves to them but in all the action didn't get their names.

I will of course be recommending you / raving about you to anyone that will listen.
