Steve
It's nearly a fortnight since your orchestra played at my wife's birthday party in Cobham. However, yesterday was the first day following the event when neither Maggie nor I received some sort of compliment about your contribution to the occasion. All in all, there has been a steady flow of compliments, the gust of which was that, in every respect, you pitched things just right. I know Maggie in particular was very happy.
Please share our thanks with your friends and with a particular word of thanks to your trumpeting ‘rival’ from the post horn gallop. None of us, I think, had appreciated just how much of a production number that was to be.
I trust that, on the night, you did get enough in the way of food and drink. I suspect that, behind the scenes, there needed to be a bit of smoothing of things that should not have been necessary and I would wish to offer apologies for that; it certainly should not have been the case.
At the moment, I have no anticipation of another function but I suspect that the hotel will not lose you off their radar - I hope that's OK by you.
In the meantime, a very sincere thanks again to all of you and yourself in particular for making it so easy to get everything arranged.
Regards
Peter
